The bulk editor

A spreadsheet over the whole shop: filter, change hundreds of cells and save only what you touched.

The walkthrough for this topic is being recorded. Until then, the text below covers everything.

What is in it

The bulk editor (the Bulk area) shows products, variants, collections, articles, pages, blogs, policies, metaobjects and images as rows. You choose which columns you see — titles, SEO texts, handles, metafields, options, alt texts, prices, merchandising attributes — including several languages side by side.

Editing

Filter to the rows you care about and type straight into the cells. Rectangular ranges can be pasted like in a spreadsheet. Changed cells are highlighted, and steps can be undone.

Saving

Only changed cells are saved. If Shopify refuses a value, exactly that cell is marked as failed — every other change still goes through. Very large saves run as a background task.

Select columns (status or taxable, for example) accept only their permitted values. A pasted value such as “Yes” in a status column is refused and named, instead of writing something wrong.
