Installation and the first sync

How to install the app, what happens on first launch, and why the app works with a local copy of your content.

The walkthrough for this topic is being recorded. Until then, the text below covers everything.

Installing

ContentPilot AI is installed from the Shopify App Store. Shopify shows you which data the app may read and write — nothing is installed until you approve it there. The app then opens directly inside your Shopify admin.

The first sync

On first launch the app reads your content from Shopify: products, collections, pages, blogs, articles, menus, metaobjects and their translations. Depending on the catalogue this takes a few seconds to a few minutes; progress runs as a background task.

The app works with this local copy so that lists, filters and overviews are fast. Writes, however, always go to Shopify first — a change counts as saved only once Shopify confirms it.

Reloading

Products and collections are kept current automatically through Shopify's webhooks. Pages, blogs and articles have no such notifications; if you change them outside the app, reload the single entry with the reload button in the editor. Brand-new content appears after a full sync.
