What it is for

Many apps write their text straight into the storefront without offering it to Shopify for translation, so it looks the same in every language. Direct translations capture that text and replace it in the visitor's browser with your translation.

How it works

  1. Switch on the “Direct translations” app embed in the theme editor.
  2. Under Content → Direct translations, switch on collection and save.
  3. Visit your storefront — the text found there then appears in the list.
  4. Translate the entries, one by one or with AI, and save.
