Editing and translating menus

Rename, reorder, nest and retarget — without losing translations.

The walkthrough for this topic is being recorded. Until then, the text below covers everything.

A full menu editor

Under Content → Menus you edit your navigation as a tree: add, delete, rename, drag to move and nest up to three levels deep. An item's target is chosen from products, collections, pages, blogs, articles, policies, metaobjects or a free URL.

Translations are kept

In Shopify, moving a menu item under a different parent loses its translations. The app captures them before saving and restores them afterwards — for every sub-item and for market-specific versions too.

Careful with simultaneous changes

Shopify always saves a menu as a whole. If somebody changed the menu elsewhere in the meantime, the app refuses to save and tells you what changed — instead of silently overwriting the other change.
