The areas

Content → Theme lists the text of your published theme, split the way Shopify splits it:

  • Default content — the theme's language file: “Add to cart”, “Sold out”, form labels.
  • Section groups and static sections — header, footer and fixed sections.
  • Templates — the sections on product, collection and other pages.
  • Theme settings — text stored in the theme's settings.
  • App embeds — technical content, view only.

Per theme and per market

Theme translations belong to one particular theme. If you switch themes, the new theme's text has to be translated. As with all other content, you can add market-specific versions.
